The Eschaton Tales: Vol. 2 by Kieran Marcus

24123383[The Eschaton Tales: Vol. 2] by [Kieran Marcus] continues the story of a world facing a crisis. The characters are well developed and it was enjoyable to read. Although I understand that they are stand alone stories they are all connected and best read in order. I wish, just as with [Vol 1], that the chapters had been titled with the location and year. It jumps around, almost like giant time leaps, and giving the reader an idea of the setting for each chapter would be helpful. It was like a puzzle and the connections were great just it could use some clarification. Of course that could just be me. I would really like to read [Vol. 3].

The Eschaton Tales: Vol. 1 by Kieran Marcus

The Eschaton Tales: Vol.1

[The Eschaton Tales: Vol. 1] by [Kieran Marcus] is a great idea for a story. The characters are well developed and it was enjoyable to read. I just wish the chapters had been titled with the location and year. It jumps around, almost like giant time leaps, and giving the reader an idea of the setting for each chapter would be helpful. It was like a puzzle and the connections were great just it could use some clarification. Of course that could just be me.

The Screaming by David Graham

The Screaming

[The Screaming] by [David Graham] was an interesting topic and had a great premise. The idea of cell phones contributing to a killer gene is not that far fetched. That being said he spent too much time on the relationships of the characters. This made the characters shallow since that seemed all they cared about. It's great to see LGBT characters but there is a reason I don't like romance, it's boring and leads to stagnant characters. This is what I felt like happened here. Would have liked to see more intrigue and depth as there was so much potential.

Legacy:2014 A Christmas Special (Require:Cookie) by Grace McDermott

Legacy: 2014 Christmas Special (Require: Cookie)

[Legacy: 2014 Christmas Special(Require: Cookie)] by [Grace McDermott] is short story that actually comes before the [Require: Cookie] series. It is the story of Rhys, who is pare of who Ryan is made of. He is the last Duster. They were the "angels" before the Agents. They were a rougher more ruthless form but the purpose was the same, to protect. By learning about Rhys you will have a better insight into why Ryan is who he is.

Mirrorheart by Grace McDermott

Mirrorheart (Require: Cookie Book 2)

[Mirrorheart(Require: Cookie Book 2)] by [Grace McDermott] continues the adventure and ultimate geek out by Stef. Problem is Stef is technically dead. Ryan broke his Duty and used a wish to save her. The problem now is 1) will it work, 2) what to do if it does?

I love the characters in these books because they aren't your typical hero or villain but rather a little of both. I was glad to see more of Curt and Agent Jane added a whole new dimension to the story. Looking forward to reading more.

Red Palace by Sarah Dalton

22392424[Sarah Dalton] continues the story of Mae, a craft born, in [Red Palace]. Mae and Cas have made it to the Red Palace but the struggles are far from over. At a ceremony a curse is put on the palace leaving Mae alone to fight, not only her own fears, but everyone's.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series [White Hart] but [Red Palace] takes it up a notch. You get to know the characters better, especially Mae. The maze that is the Red Palace with it puzzles seems like the type of place my imagination would take me. [Dalton] is creating another classic fantasy series. A must read!

White Hart by Sarah Dalton

18760207I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

I love a well written fantasy novel which is what [White Hart] by [Sarah Dalton] could be described as. The story of Mae, a young poor girl, who also happens to have magical abilities. She hides these so she will not be forced to marry the prince. When tragedy strikes she ends up on a quest with the prince.

I thought the characters were well developed and the plot was good. There could have been more description of the setting since it is a magical land. I liked that Mae was not a weakling but she also lacked confidence due to lack of experience.

I have started reading [Red Palace] the second book which I also received free for review.

Edge Of End by Suren Hakobyan

23434427I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.

[Edge of End] by [Suren Hakobyan] was a really good concept and I really wanted to like it but I think it was a little too wordy. Perhaps it may have worked better as a short story. It was also obvious that English was not the authors first language. I would recommend that the author seek a good editor because the ideas are there they just need some refining.

Amethyst Eyes: The Legend Comes to Life by Debbie Brown

23301333The second book of [Amethyst Eyes] by [Debbie Brown] continues the story of Tommy as he comes to terms with who he is. The story picks up three years after the first ended. I liked how the events on Earth that were considered critical could truly be identified as the Japanese Tsunami. I do not know if there will be another books since this one came to a resolution but as we all know one resolution always leads to a new story.

Amethyst Eyes:Book 1 by Debbie Brown

Amethyst Eyes
I really enjoyed [Amethyst Eyes] by [Debbie Brown]. In the introduction it states it was written for reluctant readers, which is what I teach. I fully agree that young adults that don't like reading will enjoy the story of coming of age with a twist.

Imagine your world as you know it being turned upside down at fifteen years old. Your mom dies in an accident, you are seriously injured, finally your dad, who you haven't seen since you were little, comes to take you home with him. Here is the twist, his home is a space ship. Yes, your dad is an alien.

It is definitely not as cheesy as I made it seem. The relationship Tommy has with his dad is not that different from that of any teenager growing up and changing. The adventure of getting to know yourself is sometimes the biggest for a teenager.
